Meet the Doctor
Dr. Afnan Choudhry is a loving father, husband, and son. Afnan Choudhry was born and raised in Pakistan. He attended Baqai Dental College, Karachi, Pakistan, where he received his Bachelors in Dental Science(BDS). Dr. Afnan continued his expertise with an internship at Agha Khan University, followed by a 1-year house job at Lahore Medical and Dental College. He migrated to the United States in 2012 and furthered his education at New York University, College of Dentistry, where he received his Doctorate in Dental Surgery. Dr. Choudhry is committed to providing the highest standard of care for every child.
Dental Phobia, Anxiety and Sedation Dentistry
Some children feel nervous at the dentist, and that is completely okay. Depending on your child’s needs, we offer several levels of support — from laughing gas (nitrous oxide) to IV sedation and general anesthesia. This range of child sedation dentistry options allows us to create a calm, comfortable experience for every patient.
Sedation can be a good choice for children with strong dental fear, a sensitive gag reflex, special healthcare needs, or more extensive treatment such as a root canal for kids or dental crowns for children. Learn more on our sedation page.
Before any sedation, we review your child’s health history with you, explain each step, and give you clear instructions for before and after the visit. IV sedation and general anesthesia are provided only by a licensed medical or dental anesthesiologist.
